I agree we should not show favortism, however the Old Testament references this teaching makes do not reflect favoritism. They show us God doing as He pleases. God loved Jacob but hated Esau. He chose Jacob. The parents had nothing to do with this. Romans 9:13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” Joseph is a representation of Christ in Old Testament. These played out exactly how God intended, again not due to favoritism.

Yes, Gene... having sex with a Nazi guard to save your husband's life is committing adultery. With your skewed reasoning there is no bounds to the level of sin a person would be justified in doing in order to "do right." The midwives were not honoured by God for lying - they were honoured by God for protecting His people. I can't even shake my head hard enough to get across how ignorant this position of "situational ethics" is. Corrie Ten-boom's family lied about having Jews hidden in their home. Corrie did not sexually service all the Gestapo to protect those Jews in her care. Likewise, a man in a concentration camp offered seven nights a week with the most alluring escorts can't say "Sure!" to ensure food is given to his wife and children, regardless of how unlikely that scenario is. If I'm told, "Kill your wife and children or we will kill a million people," I don't get to make the decision to do so and then it NOT be sin. This is such stupid thinking, and there's no end to it. The first night the Nazis come and demand sex from a wife (or an unwed woman even) to save someone else's life. And then the next, and the next, and the next, and it just gets worse and worse. At some point a person should be willing to simply DIE for what is right. I would GLADLY die so that my wife was not gang-raped, and I would KILL as many of them as possible in hopes it would not happen, even knowing in the end I would probably be killed and her victimized anyway. People, Gene has a lot of good principles, but not every word he says is the "God-honest truth." Here is case in point. Don't pay attention to it. Oh, on a similar note, Deitrich Bonnhoffer was famously attributed with the quote "It is better to do evil than to be evil" regarding lying to protect Jews and for the plot to kill Hitler. But in that case neither was "evil" and would have been GOOD to do. There is a difference - A MASSIVE ONE - between that scenario and the one Gene has posed.

The prophecy and warning in Isaiah and Ezekiel to "kings" is clear for interpretation: the "King" is lucifer/satan who is being addressed. The "prince" is the earthly, human king. The "king" (satan) is the REAL one in charge because he is able to operate THROUGH the human agents who have opened themselves up THROUGH pride to his control. This can happen to us all.

Deuteronomy 13 says that if anyone tells you that you don't have to follow the law or if anyone tries to change the law then they are a false prophet even if they can perfom miracles. Deuteronomy 13 proves jesus was a false prophet.

Paul in Romans 3:23 is apparently quoting Psalm 14 and/or Psalm 53. It would be pretty safe to say this because they are so very similar. It is foolishness, even dangerous and arrogant to say that I know what anyone in the Bible was thinking. I can't know what they were thinking. I only know what the author revealed in his writings. Only God knows the thoughts of men and women. I may guess which is again foolish, but I will in truth never know. Why guess or speculate at what has not been revealed by God through His Word? Who am I trying to glorify? In humility we exegete scripture, pointing people towards Christ by and through the power of His Word And what He has sovereignly reavealed for us to know. Deut 29:29.

He took most of these verses out of context….you can’t just take verses and just fit them into your thought of application. The major passages, especially Ephesians; is talking about the heart of Paul for the churches. The heart that came from God to Paul. The heart that desires every believer to be rooted, built up, fully established in the body of Christ.

Its interesting that modern day psycology, which is heavily influenced by hermetics and gnostisism, wants you to dwell on the past. They want you to talk about all your tramatic past events as part of healing. Jesus says to not dwell in the past. Move forward. Cast all of your anxieties on him. The former things are no more.

If a person is emotionally struggling because of their sin and other spiritual issues the answer is never medication, it’s Jesus first. That almost ALWAYS cures them within weeks to months. IF they’re sincere in repentance and there’s improvement but they’re not quite balanced chemically yet, ok perhaps now some medication (that has TERRIBLE side effects) are now in order, but it’s NEVER to be the first go-to. Another thought: David never got meds, neither did Jesus the man of sorrows. MAYBE we’re supposed to “share in Christ’s sufferings”??? I’ve had the toughest time since coming to Christ 13 years ago but i refuse to turn to drugs and God has been faithful to help me through every season and has grown and strengthened me through it. We in the west are way too quick to flee difficult and chase after comfort and neither is the walk of the Christian.

You know, you preachers often mention being against lgbtq and abortion as a means of doing business, your freedoms of religion, yet do you ever deny someone service for being divorced? Adultery is rampant in the church, with church leaders like Falwell Jr who not only are adulterers, but depraved and full of greed, yet you never point your finger at them or deny adulterers of a job in your businesses. When you find out that one of your married employees are having affair, do you fire them out of some sort of pious Christlike judgment? No, you sweep under the carpet. You approve of divorce. You know you do. Always the gays and abortion, your usual scapegoats, it’s so obvious, which by the way, Jesus never mentions himself, but he talks about adulterers and greed all the time. Plus, any pastor who doesn’t call out false faith healers like Benny Hinn or Kenneth Copeland are in collusion with that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Pretending to heal in the name of Jesus, yet they are false and greedy, turning the name of Jesus into a business model. Apostates! Talk about taking the name of God in vain. That, my friend, is blasphemy. Woe unto the church, for you have committed the sin of Sodom. Ezekiel 16:49 “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and those in need.” If this isn’t an accurate description of the American church, then I don’t know what else is. Woe unto the church, for you forbid others into the kingdom, but are unfit yourselves.
